Not much can be said that would be original for NOBU. The ambience is top shelf and the food is ultra-fresh. Bring your highest expectations and a lot of money. The experience is absolutely worth the investment. The NOBU dining that everyone talks up is real. Absolutely the best sushi you will have anywhere on planet earth.

After Nobu Malibu, I think this Newport Beach location is my second favorite location in all the locations I have tried in US. I enjoyed not having to stress over making a reservation as it is much easier to make a reservation here than the Malibu location. Friendlier staff, easy reservations, and the same great menu, I wont even mess with Malibu anymore. Of course the Malibu location has breathtaking views and the finness is exceptional, but who wants to put up with the attitude of servers and difficulty of making reservations there. I highly suggest ordering sashimi and their specialty hot plates vs. sushi. Don't forget the desserts and digestive drinks at the end of a very satisfying meal.

My friend and I came here for drinks and a light bite for a Sunday Funday. The service is great and we were quickly greeted by our server. We both ordered tequila-based cocktails and they were both delicious. We also ordered the lettuce wrapped miso cod and asparagus salad. We have reservations somewhere else for dinner so we didn't want to get full. Everything was delicious. Nothing beats that gorgeous view either.

It was a great night, they have heat lamps outside and a sushi bar. Kitchen closes at 9:15p but dessert station and bar is open til midnight. I loved the food and it was good portions The bill was $288 for two. We had three drinks, two appetizers and two entrées. View by the water, nice nighttime vibes. $15 valet. Guests are so nice and friendly here. Nice area! The lamb chops were OK but the plate of veggies it came with was so amazing. Asparagus, onion and more! The scallops could've been a little little more warmer, but the flavor was delicious and I kept going back for more. The temporary lobster was the best thing on the plate and a great mouth. The tiger shrimp so juicy and big and I love the sauce it came in.
